The Sheringham Carnival was a success despite the weather as the parade passed through the town in another week-long celebration filled with family fun.
The carnival got underway on Sunday (July 30) with the crowning of this year’s carnival queen Gee Ives, followed by the carnival’s bonny baby, glamourous granny and children’s fancy dress competitions.
The carnival beach day, organised by Sheringham’s Reef Leisure Centre, took place on Monday, with various events leading up to the main event – the Sheringham Carnival parade - on Wednesday.

Sheringham Carnival committee chairman Stuart McClean said: “It was a success.
“You need the weather for the carnival parade - and considering the inclement weather, we got away with it.
“I would like to thank our sponsors, volunteers and our carnival queen, who deserves a round of applause for joining in all week.”

The carnival parade takes place on the first Wednesday of August every year.
The event is now approaching its 100th anniversary – first starting in 1927.
Mr McClean, who has been committee chairman for 14 years, said organising the carnival was a “labour of love”.
