The team at a north Norfolk fish and chip shop are over the moon after being given the thumbs up by Norfolk’s ‘Chippy Advisor’.
Matty Groundsell, who has set out to visit and review as many Norfolk chippies as he possibly can, has given Stevenson’s Cafe and Fish Bar in Sheringham’s High Street an emphatic two thumbs up, rating it 4.9 out of 5 on his “chipter scale”.
In his Facebook review, Mr Groundsell, from Hunstanton, called the venue an “absolute corker”.
He said: “The cod was a skinless, large flakey fillet with ultra-thin and crisp batter sat on a very generous portion of chips.

“Clearly the fryer was clean as a whistle and at the perfect temperature. This place had everything I love about a chippy.”
Sadie Cawston, assistant manager at the chippy, which is owned by Alan, Stuart and Jeanette Stevenson, said: “We work so hard to keep the standards high. We filter the oil daily and change it once a week.
“It was the best news to get this from the Chippy Advisor. Hard work pays off.”
