The 23-year-old owner of a new fragrance shop in north Norfolk has told of her joy at how the business is going so far.

Hannah Clark, from Wood Dalling, founded The Scented Barn during the pandemic, selling her candles, wax melts and other items online and at pop-up events.

But having now had her own premises in Hoppers Yard, Holt, for over a week, Miss Clark said she was thrilled at fulfilling her brick-and-mortar dreams.

She said of the opening day: “I was absolutely speechless and had many happy tears.

“As I cut the ribbon to see that we had a large queue from our doors down to the entrance of the yard.

“This was the day I had dreamed of since I was a child. It was the most incredible and overwhelming day filled with so many lovely comments about both our shop and products.”

Miss Clark said the shelves had emptied as the week went on, and so had spent her free time in her workshop making more products by hand.

The young entrepreneur, who went to Gresham’s School in the town, taught herself to make home fragrances during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

Her shop is open daily 10am-4pm - closed Wednesdays - and is open the first Sunday of each month.
