Table top fundraiser

A table top sale is being held in Aylsham to help fund community projects in Cambodia.
The sale takes place in Aylsham Market Place on Saturday, May 28 from 9am – midday with genuine Cambodian crafts plus cakes and fresh produce for sale, with all proceeds to the town of Svay Sisophon in Cambodia.
Katie Maidment of the Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, North Walsham, visited the town in 2007 and since then the parish, twinned [through the Catholic Diocese of East Anglia] with St. Francis Xavier Parish in Svay Sisophon, has supported various projects in the town.
Projects include help for housing, hygiene and cultural development, sponsoring students through university, ongoing support for food programmes and regular funding for an HIV/AIDS clinic.
The twinning, which also includes Aylsham and Hoveton, has been further developed by St. John’s Infant School, Norwich and St. Michael’s Nursery and Infant School in Aylsham, setting up links with two schools in Svay Sisophon.
