Bit Cat Diary's Simon King, Test Match Special's Henry Blofeld, and falconry show are heading to north Norfolk
Some of the biggest names in the entertainment world will be heading to north Norfolk in the next few weeks, with some spectacular bookings at the Auden Theatre in Holt.
First up will be Springwatch’s Simon King, who is also known to millions for his Big Cat Diary series.
The wildlife expert will be giving an illustrated talk, showing how everyone can talk to the animals in their own neighbourhood and get first class views of wildlife as a result.
The show includes an extensive Q & A session and the audience will have the opportunity to chat with Simon about everything from the wildlife on their doorsteps to his adventures as a wildlife film-maker all over the world.
The event takes place on June 16 at 7.30pm.
Back by popuar demand, Fens Falconry will be returning to Gresham’s on Father’s day at 10am.
Handlers will provide an informative and entertaining talk and, weather permitting, a flying display in the grounds beyond the Theatre.
The demonstration will take place in the theatre’s grounds, tickets are £3.
Cricket legend Henry Blofeld will also be visiting the theatre on Sunday, June 17 at 3pm/
Widely respected as the voice of Test Match Special, ‘Blowers’ brings his wit and wisdom to the stage once again.
Mr Blofeld is keen to stress though that it’s not all cricket, in fact most of it isn’t and that every show is different. He said: “People gather round afterwards in the foyer and say, ‘We had no idea it was like this. We thought it was a cricket show.’ But it’s not. And if you think you’re going to learn how to play a forward defensive, you’ll be sadly disappointed.”
The talk is based, in the loosest sense, on Henry’s life story, although there is time for as many after-dinner anecdotes and meandering digressions as there is in a Test Match Special rain break.
Tickets for the talk are £22.
Tickets are available from the box office on 01263 713444 or book online at www.audentheatre.co.uk.
