Poetry offering hope in the midst of desolation is the subject of a new book by a Sheringham writer.
Peter Pegnall has produced Dear Lord, When Will I Die? inspired by his family, the sea, weather and his experience with love.
Mr Pegnall said of his work: "We discover the immaculate in the ordinary.
"Love and death are constantly present and, indeed, intertwined but there is nothing grand or tragic about this. I have faith in the human spirit, but not, necessarily in articles of faith.
"Poetry answers questions only poetry can ask."
This is Mr Pegnall's seventh poetry collection. He also runs regular poetry events at The Funky Mack in Sheringham.
The book will be launched at 2.30pm on Friday, October 25, at the Hostry in Norwich Cathedral as part of the Hostry Festival. Mr Pegnall will read some of the poems, accompanied by harpist Joy Smith.
