North Norfolk-based writer Peter Pegnall is inviting people passionate about poetry to join him for a series of events being held at a Sheringham cafe.

Mr Pegnall, who has published five collections of his own poetry, has run workshops at north Norfolk residential homes and schools, as well hosting poetry events at Sheringham Medical Practice and Sheringham Little Theatre.

The new poetry sessions, which will run at 7pm at the Sitting Room, in Augusta Street, will begin on November 16 with readings by published poets David Head and Margaret Forrester.

Mr Pegnall, who plans to invite those attending to read their own poetry as ‘supporting acts’, said: “The logic is that I will be offering a more substantial platform to writers I already know to be very deserving, as well as continuing the tradition of open participation.”
