Ninth year for Folk on the Pier

One of the most important weeks in the year for the Pavilion Theatre in Cromer is 'Folk on the Pier' but before opening the doors to the incredible world of 'folk music' Cromer celebrates 'Lets Dance 2008' Saturday 3rd - Monday 5th May.

Now in its 9th year this years three day dance extravaganza from Marlene's School of Dance based in Cromer brings together a whole host of talented children from the North Norfolk area and gives them the opportunity to do what they do best- dance. Ballet, modern jazz, hip-hop, salsa, tap and much more will be performed by children from

3 - 21 years of age all tutored under the watchful eye of Marlene who has been running her dance school for the past 18 years. Marlenes School of Dance also features in Seaside Special and as in past years many of Marlenes pupils will be eager to be auditioned for this very important show on their career path to potential stardom.

Folk on the Pier known to many as FOP has established itself as a major event on the festival circuit bringing together a rich variety of musical styles celebrates its tenth anniversary. And as in past year will bring together performers from around the world to perform in front of a knowledgeable and enthusiastic audience.

This year there is a special pre FOP concert 'Never Chance Your Luck Against The Sea' which launches a brand new limited edition 2CD set of the same name in aid of the Cromer Lifeboat Crew Fund. Headlining the evening will be award wining musicians John Tams and Barry Coope along with 'Meet on the Ledge' , Liz Simcock and Hayley Moyses and the Bluegrass Forum. All the artists have donated tracks to the new

CD accompanying many more who have appeared at FOP over the past

nine years.
