One of Norfolk’s top attractions is set to be overrun by ferocious beasts this summer.

Flamingos at Cromer's Amazona Zoo still manage to keep themselves clean desire the wet and cold weather over the weekend.

The Amazona Zoo in north Norfolk will add hundreds of bears to their many animal residents, which already include tarantulas, toucans, and jaguars.

But visitors need not worry; for the Teddy Bear’s Picnic celebrating the Cromer zoo’s tenth birthday is a strictly fun-filled event.

Children and their parents alike are encouraged to bring along their furry friends in honour of Paddington bear, who originates from deepest, darkest Peru.

The day will feature opportunities to explore and learn about the selection of animals which are native to South America.

Home to over 200 tropical animals, including pumas, ocelots, monkeys, snakes, caimans, flamingos, and tapirs, the zoo is committed to helping visitors discover nature and providing education on conservation issues set within 15 acres on the north Norfolk coast.

The zoo has also added to its indoor and outdoor play areas two large outdoor jumping pillows, a tarantula spider house and a cute South American guinea pig village.

And should visitors get hungry (and their bears keen for a marmalade sandwich) the zoo’s lakeside cafe will be open from 10.30am. The Teddy Bear’s Picnic will take place from 10am to 5pm on June 23.
