It is certainly not the case for members of Paston College's critically acclaimed Far East Theatre Company, as they prepare for a demanding tour in July
“Our tour takes two productions - Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and Oh What a Lovely War - to four schools, a community venue, and two theatres. “Nine shows in the space of six days!” says head of expressive arts, Mandy McKenna. “We play at the Sheringham Little Theatre and the Norwich Playhouse, in three local high schools in North Walsham, Caister and Hoveton, at Spalding High School in Lincolnshire, and at Brunswick House, a care home in North Walsham. We were delighted to accept the invitation from Spalding High who had learned about Paston College Far East Theatre, from our website.”
Performing Oh What a Lovely War at Brunswick House will be very poignant as one of the residents saw Joan Littlewood original production in London in the 1960s.

The two shows were first performed in the winter at the Paston Theatre. The members of the company have come back to their roles after the end of examinations. The schedule of performances is given below.
“This is a fantastic way for students to learn at first hand what it is like to be part of a professional theatre group.” said Peter Mayne, Paston College's Principal “and probably a unique, experience for young people studying A levels and BTECs.”

“I am very proud of Paston's work in the Arts. Ofsted were impressed with the quality of work done by Far East Theatre when the inspected the college in February. Their visit coincided with the staging of Twelfth Night. Ofsted awarded the College a grade 1 - that is nationally “outstanding” - for our examination and performance work in the arts”.
