Now that Cromer New Year's Day fireworks is done and dusted, it's time to look ahead to the rest of the year.

There will be a whole raft of events and things to do around the so-called 'gem of the north Norfolk coast' in 2020. Here are just a few of them:

-Rock for Heroes: Music from Queen, the Eagles. Bon Jovi and more will be played at a fundraising gig for the armed forces charity Help for Heroes at Cromer Pier on March 14.

-Sixties Weekend: The vintage festival is back for its second year on the March 28-29 weekend. The festival at Cromer Pier and along the prom has been extended to two days, and will feature live music from the swinging sixties, fashion, food and hundreds of scooters and classic vehicles.

-Folk on the Pier: Established artists and rising stars of folk, rock and acoustic music will take part in this event from May 8-10. Many events take place at the pier's Pavilion Theatre, but there is also a 'fringe festival' of gigs at pubs and other venues around town.

-Crab and Lobster Festival: The event that unites Cromer and Sheringham in a crustacean celebration takes place over the May 16-17 weekend. There will be a variety concert at the Pavilion Theatre on the Friday night (May 15), followed by music, cookery demonstrations and much more at Cromer's Evington Gardens on Saturday and Sunday.

-Garden Festival: North Lodge Park will host its annual Garden Festival on Saturday, May 16.

-Mammoth Marathon: All new for 2020, the Mammoth Marathon will weave its way along the coast from Mundesley to Sheringham via Cromer. Cheer on the runners on Sunday, May 17 and as the race starts at 9.30am, they should pass through Cromer late morning/early afternoon.

-Cromer Pier Summer Show: The famous Seaside Special returns on June 20, with matinee and evening performances running until September 19.

-Starlight Concerts: Open-air picnic concerts featuring tribute acts - return to the grounds of Cromer Hall on July 10 and 11. Friday's concert will feature the music of Queen and anthems from the 1980s, while Saturday will put Abba and the Beatles in the spotlight.

-Cromer Carnival: The town's annual carnival returns for its 51st year in 2020, with Carnival Week on from Saturday, August 15 to Friday, August 21. The fun culminates with Carnival Day - a full day of events on Wednesday, August 19.
