Tough role for actress, 13
A 13-year-old actress is taking the lead role in a harrowing wartime-based play at Sheringham Little Theatre next week.Charlotte Richmond from Cromer High School plays Eva Schlesinger in Kindertransport, the story of a young Jewish girl sent to Britain from Germany between 1938 and the outbreak of war.
A 13-year-old actress is taking the lead role in a harrowing wartime-based play at Sheringham Little Theatre next week.
Charlotte Richmond from Cromer High School plays Eva Schlesinger in Kindertransport, the story of a young Jewish girl sent to Britain from Germany between 1938 and the outbreak of war.
Eva ends up in Manchester and when her parents fail to escape Germany, she changes her name and begins the process of denial of her roots. It is only when her daughter Faith, discovers some old letters in the attic that Eva is forced to confront the truth about her past.
The play, produced and directed by David Bonnington, runs from November 19-21 and Charlotte is supported by Michelle Warner as Faith, Melissa Collin as Helga, Alison Bonnington as Evelyn, Joan Spall as Lil and Derek Bull as the mysterious Ratcatcher.
