Tickets are now on sale for the forthcoming Rotary Club of Aylsham Camel Race which will be held on Saturday February 21 at Aylsham High School.
This will be the fourth consecutive Rotary Camel Race, an event which has become a firm favourite in Aylsham's social calendar.
Over 150 people attended last year to make it the most successful so far and raised over 2,000 for Rotary and local charities. Many people chose to delve into their wardrobes to bring out Arab costumes they had bought on previous holidays and they wore them for the evening to give the event more of an authentic flavour.
There will be six races, with one 'fillies' race being for female 'jockeys' only, this has also proved to be very, very popular.
The event is widely supported by local businesses who 'buy' races and then nominate people to be the jockeys who wind the handle attached by a long length of string to the camel at the far end of the school hall.
The evening is guaranteed to be good fun, entrance costs 8 which includes a hot supper. Talk about it with your friends and family and make up a table and come along for a fun-filled evening!
