It was one of the classic feel-good films of the 1990s, and now Sister Act is about to make a splash in north Norfolk.

The Cromer and Sheringham Operatic and Dramatic Society are putting the final touches on their wimples and getting their voices into gear for a stage version of the musical, which will be at Cromer Pier from Saturday, May 26 to June 2.

Martin Rodwell, the show's director, who joined the society in 1980 at the tender age of 13, said: 'I love this show, everything about it is exactly how musicals should be, toe tapping, big laughs, big ballads and a finale with the best feel good factor, so enjoy the show and spread the gospel to the masses to come see Sister Act.'

The show stars Claire Chandler as Deloris, the role made famous by Whoopi Goldburg in the original film.

There will be matinée and evening performances, visit www.cromerpier.co.uk for more information or to book.
