To celebrate the opening of an extension to its swimming pool facilities, Broadland High School, Hoveton is holding a 'Side By Side Sports Day' on Saturday, March 28.

Mel Clarke, Paralympic bronze medallist from Beijing 2008, will officially open the facility, which has been designed to allow improved access for able bodied and disabled swimmers.

Sports on offer include archery, salsa, grass track cycling, indoor rowing, tennis, Tai Chi, short mat bowling, football and tri golf and they are all free of charge.

The event is supported by grants from Norwich East School Sports Partnership, North Norfolk District Council and Broadland Community Learning.

There will also be a chance to use pedal power to produce a smoothie, relax with an Indian head massage and chat to representatives from Norfolk Adult Education Service and Hoveton and Wroxham Medical Centre.

Information stands from associated bodies will be available to supply further advice to families on how to access sports in their locality.
