Acclaimed poets Martin Figura and Helen Ivory will be kicking off the latest season of Coast Arts events on January 31, with a literary tea at the Belfry Arts Centre, Overstrand.
The couple, who live in Norwich, have between them won a string of poetry prizes, with Mr Figura bagging the 2013 Saboteur award for best spoken word show and the Poetry Society's 2010 Hamish Canham prize, and Ms Ivory winning a Gregory award and the 2016 Saboteur award for best collaborative work.
Mr Figura said the Overstrand event would combine readings from both his and Ms Ivory's work with a question and answer session.
He added: 'We are very different writers, but we do write in the same room, are each other's first workshopper and editor and our approach has been fed in or adapted to each other's to some extent.'
Other upcoming Coast events include a literary lunch with well-known crime novelist Elly Griffiths at the Cliftonville Hotel, Cromer at 1.30pm on February 9, a Valentine's Day-themed storytelling evening at the Stables, Gresham, at 7pm on February 10, and gospel sing-along with acapella group Sonrisa at the Crown pub, Sheringham, at 3pm on February 11.
The programme continues into March, with films, concerts and a series of five percussion workshops led by composer and community musician Jane Wells.
Coast Arts, which was founded as a week-long festival eight years ago, has since evolved to include a year-round programme, teaming up with venues ranging from pubs and village halls, to theatres and churches to stage concerts, films and workshops all over the north Norfolk area.
Coast trustee Annie Lloyd said the charity began branching out into more 'diverse' projects two years ago, running successful talent and art competitions, launching an arts magazine and organising singing workshops for people with dementia.
'We wanted to spread out events throughout the year, rather than doing something for just one week,' she explained.'
