Gardens at Ludham are open on Sunday raising funds for the church.

Between 11am and 5pm a dozen gardens in Staithe Road and Horsefen Road, on either side of Womack Water, will be open to the public.

Many of these gardens run right down to the water, and a free ferry service allows access to those on the other side of the Broad.

The entrance ticket (5) gives free parking, entrance to all twelve gardens, with a map provided, as well as free ferry rides.

Other attractions include a classic car display, wherries on show, as well as the Norfolk Heritage Fleet of 1930s sailing boats. There will be craft displays, ice cream and refreshments available throughout the day in some of the gardens, and also on the Staithe.

There is also advice on composting from Master Composter Penny Holland and gardening tips from rose growers, Bill le Grice and Ken Grapes.

The event is put on by the Friends of St Catherine's Church, which raises money to help preserve the fabric of the medieval church. In previous years, money raised has gone towards new lighting in the church. This year's will be put towards the first painting of the interior of the church in living memory.
