North Walsham & Bradfield Flower Club is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a three-day festival beginning on Friday,June 13.A Golden Symphony of Flowers is being staged in conjunction withSt Nicholas' Church, and will also include an interpretive section with a dozen or so titles such as Elvis Jailhouse Rock, Glenn Miller, Dolly Parton and the Swinging 60s.

A Golden Symphony of Flowers is being staged in conjunction with

St Nicholas' Church, and will also include an interpretive section with a dozen or so titles such as Elvis Jailhouse Rock, Glenn Miller, Dolly Parton and the Swinging 60s.

Paston College textiles tutor Penny Knee, who arranged the exhibition of Copes and Robes in the church last year, is co-ordinating a display of wedding gowns from the past 50 years and more, enhanced with replica bouquets.

A preview evening is being held on Thursday, June 12, at 7pm, when the exhibition will be opened by Lady Walpole, followed by a demonstration of floral art by David Wright, entitled A Summer Wedding, in the church at 8pm. Exhibits will be raffled off after the demonstration. Tickets at £8 each include refreshments.

On the Saturday night, a Last Night of the Proms concert takes place at 7.30pm, featuring the Norwich City Concert Band and the North Norfolk Chorale.

A Songs of Praise service with St Benets Singers, West End

Singers and North Walsham Junior School Choir concludes the

festival at 6.30pm on the Sunday evening.
