People are being given the chance to indulge with cheese wine and musical entertainment and help fundraise for charity at the same time.

Wroxham and Hoveton Lions Club, in conjunction with the North Norfolk Railway, are organising a special steam hauled Charity Train, on Saturday, July 2 to raise funds on behalf of Nelson's Journey, a local charity supporting bereaved children in Norfolk.

The train will depart Sheringham at 6.30pm for Holt where the locomotive will run round and then return to Weybourne, where a Shadows tribute group will entertain, the train arriving back at Sheringham by 9pm.

Cheese and wine will be served during the journey and a mega raffle will be held at Weybourne.

Nicki Gibson, marketing and fundraising officer for Nelson's Journey, said: 'We are very grateful to Wroxham & Hoveton Lions Club and for their dedicated support to Nelson's Journey and to the funds they continue to raise to help us continue providing a valuable service to the bereaved children within Norfolk. We very much hope the public take this opportunity to enjoy a unique evening.'

The cost is 14.50 per person inclusive and as only 168 seats are available, early booking is recommended.

When tickets are dispatched, details of a lowest unique bid raffle will be included, the prize for which is a locomotive footplate ride.
