Burns Night foodie night at Aylsham

Haggis, neeps and tatties will once again feature on the menu for Cittaslow Aylsham's Burns Night Supper.

Now in its third year, the supper - which takes place in Aylsham Town Hall on Saturday January 25 - has proved a great success and with tickets at just £15.

The evening, which for the first time will be presented in association with Slow Food Aylsham, will follow a traditional format.

Scottish music, speeches, songs, and the address to the haggis will accompany a meal of haggis, neeps and tatties followed by a cranachan dessert.

There will be a cottage pie alternative with a vegetarian option.

A 'wee dram' is included with the meal and there will be a licensed bar.

Tickets for the foodie evening are available from Salad Days Fruit and Veg and Barnwells newsagents, both on the town's Market Place.

The Aylsham Cittaslow Committee, made up 14 people, was formed in November 2004 and is one of five towns in Britain part of the international Cittaslow network.

It follows the ethos 'living is good' and the main Cittaslow network, influenced by the slow-food movement, was started in Italy in 1999.
