Cromer boxing stars the Walsh brothers will be demonstrating their skills at north Norfolk's inaugural sports fair, which kicks off at Sheringham High School at 10am on Saturday (June 7).

Michael, and twins Ryan and Liam, who are due to fight at the home of British boxing, York Hall, Bethnal Green on June 14, will be signing autographs and giving a boxing demonstration at Saturday's event.

Other attractions will include children's activities, more than 50 stands manned by local sports clubs, and demonstrations ranging from martial arts and body combat, to more sedate sports such as croquet and bowls.

A qualified athletics coach will be running agility testing sessions, and giving advice on exercise and fitness.

Also on hand to sign autographs and answer questions will be Atlanta and Barcelona olympic 10,000m finalist and 1996 Chicago Marathon winner Paul Evans.

The athlete, who holds the half-marathon V40 European record, will be showing off some of his trophies and giving a talk on his sporting career.

North Norfolk Active England co-ordinator Wyn Nurse, who organised the sports fair with Sheringham community sports co-ordinator Derek Welch, hoped the event would encourage people to think about becoming more active in their daily lives.

Mrs Nurse, who will be bringing along the area's mobile gym, which she runs, added: "The idea is for people to come along and enjoy the day and perhaps even try out a sport they might never have considered doing before."

The sports fair runs from 10am-3pm on Saturday at Sheringham High School, Holt Road.
