The Griffon Area Partnership, Paston Heritage Society and Natural England are working together to produce an Easter event for all.

Black Knight Historical will stage displays in the Church and Churchyard of Medieval culture and everyday life. There will be soldiers, farmers, dancers, archers, medicine and writing.

Natural England will unwrap the history and the natural beauty of this area of Norfolk and introduce many creatures - both mythical and actual (but elusive). There will be a chance to see rare bats in one of their few nesting sites in the UK

The Paston Heritage Society will give talks and tours around the barn and church and there will be a rare chance to view the interior of the Great Barn.

Printmaking workshops inspired and based on The Paston Letters will be featured as well as the chance to work with a poet in the church.

Lucy Care, Secretary of the Paston Heritage Society said:

'This is an exciting time for Paston, it is a chance to get the church and letters even more well known across the country and to get more visitors to the village and the area as a whole'

This is one of a series of events that will be happening at Paston in 2008. Using an Awards for All grant the Paston Heritage Society is working towards turning the church into a heritage centre as well as retaining it as a place of worship. This will provide visitors to the church with a permanent display, explaining the things they find in the church and surrounding village and showing reproductions of some of the letters and other manuscripts at present lodged with the Norfolk Record Office and rarely on display.

This event has been organised with help from funding from EEDA and Awards for All.
