Music from the Bavarian highlands and British folk music will be played at church concerts in north Norfolk.

Cantamus Choir will be celebrating the music of Sir Edward Elgar, one of the greatest and best-known English composers, who composed a repertoire of music inspired by the Alpine region.

The choir will also song pieces by Percy Grainger, an Australian composer who played a prominent role in the revival of interest in British folk music in the early years of the 20th century.

These compositions are mostly from Lincolnshire, and are said to be some of the most sensitive and beautiful ever written.

The concerts will take place on Friday, May 25 at Thorpe Market Church and on Saturday, May 26, at West Runton church, with both performances starting at 7pm. Tickets are £8, available on the door. Email cantamussingers@gmail.com for more.
