A £10,600 baby grand piano installed at St Andrew's Church, Holt, after a fundraising campaign will be played in front of an audience for the first time next month, when acclaimed musician Mark Viner gives a concert featuring works by composers ranging from Liszt to Chopin.

Mr Viner, 28, was awarded a scholarship to the Purcell School of Music at the age of 13 and, after studying at the Royal College of Music, won a number of international prizes.

He recently completed two highly successful tours of the USA, Germany and Italy and his recordings of music by Thalberg, Liszt and Alkan on the Piano Classics label have attracted critical acclaim.

The concert, which is being staged by north Norfolk arts organisation Falcon, runs at St Andrew's Church at 6.30pm on February 10. Tickets are free, with refreshments available and a retiring collection for future Falcon projects. For more information, visit www.falcon-norfolk.org.uk
