A seaside village will be buzzing this summer as its annual summer entertainment festival marks its 25-year milestone.

Mundesley Festival will be serving up the traditional mix of music and fun for all tastes that have been its hallmark during that time.

Big band, brass band, country, choral, folk and famous names - Julie Felix and Rosemary Squires - are in the line-up.

But an expanded programme of other events is also being staged in the village in conjunction with the festival.

Plans are under way for a circus, art sessions, photography show, classic car rally and music event for youngsters.

Festival general manager Derek Kirk said the week was seeking to keep its successful formula which last year saw more than 1,000 people attending shows.

It included the 18th consecutive year of the Jonathan Wyatt Big Band, with Olly Day and Lynsey Ball on vocals, and returns for Bob Kerr's Whoopee Band and country singer Tony Goodacre.

New this year was well-known former band singer Rosemary Squires telling anecdotes and singing songs, along with folk singer Julie Felix, who reached the top 20 in 1970 with her version of Simon and Garfunkle's If I could (El Condor Pasa).

Also making a debut is the Broadland Youth Choir, which regularly sings at the EDP festival of carols, and wins accolades at international Eisteddfod singing competitions in Wales, while the Ipswich and Norwich Co-op Brass Band provides the music for the Last Night of the Proms style finale.
