The sun's out and north Norfolk is gearing up for the summer season, here are a few ideas for making the most of the area's wealth of attractions.
Take a trip to Aylsham and stop off at the Bure Valley Railway, which is running its annual Everything Goes event from Saturday until Monday. All available locos, coaches and rolling stock will be in service and fares allow unlimited travel. There's also a children's sticker trail from Aylsham and a book sale at Wroxham, where the railway's Grade II signal box will be open. http://www.bvrw.co.uk/
Relax and unwind in the mature, three acre gardens at Chestnut Farm, Church Road, West Beckham. With bulbs, shrubs, trees and herbaceous borders, as well as some unusual plants collected by owner Judy Wilson over many years. The gardens are open on Monday from 11am-5pm, entry is £5 and refreshments will be available.
Soak up some culture at the annual Norfolk Open Studios event. Dozens of artists all over north Norfolk will be throwing open the doors of their studios, sheds and summer houses, showing an eclectic mix of artwork, from painting to pottery. There are also art trails to follow at towns and villages including Cromer, North Walsham, Southrepps and Holt.
Help award-winning family attraction Bewilderwood celebrate its tenth anniversary with a cake and costume party. Dress up in your best Twiggle and Boggle costume (think flowers, leaves and lots of colour!) and join the fancy dress parade following a trail leading to a giant curious cake in the woods. Runs until June 4.
