The Norfolk Living History Fayre is being held over the weekend at Mannington Hall, near Saxthorpe.
This event is the second of its kind to be staged by Black Knight Historical in the grounds of the 15th century moated manor house.
Live costumed interpretation inside the hall between noon and 3pm sees rooms being brought to life with a bygone tailor's shop, 18th century surgeon and tea dealer in the dining room, and 1940s officers in the lounge.
Mums can slip into the 1940s reconstructed NAAFI canteen for tea and wartime recipes, courtesy of the on-site Greedy Goose cafeteria, and the educators from the Norfolk Norfolk Railway will remind you that “careless talk costs lives” and be imploring you to “make do and mend”.
As if that were not enough, there are archery displays, falconry, medieval
re-enactments and 1940s swing music.
The event is open from 11am- 4pm both days, with a varying programme each day (details at www.blackknighthistorical.
co.uk). Admission is £5 for adults, £4 concessions, accompanied under-16s free.
