Craig Beeden (2-15) and Mark Cushion (4-21) ripped the heart out of the more experienced middle and lower order, Mark Cushion snaring overseas star Du Plessis, caught behind by Rob Eagleton.
Jim Bullimore (1-20) dismissed Reader just when he was getting going and when Cushion claimed his fourth wicket in the 27th over the home side's innings was all over being bowled out for 108 with 13 overs left.

With the total standing at 30 Rob Eagleton was caught at short mid-off and thoughts of a Worstead collapse were starting to emerge.

But Jerry Bean (45 not out) and Tim Beeden (34 not out) batted with composure and aggression to safely see their side home to a comfortable win by eight wickets with 10 overs to spare.
