In Mid Norfolk Sunday League Burgess Shield Division Two Worstead travelled to Topcroft, the form side in the division.
Having won the toss the home captain elected to bat first but his very youthful top order struggled against the experienced Worstead bowlers Mark Yaxley (2-26) and Kevin Hemp (1-10).
Craig Beeden (2-15) and Mark Cushion (4-21) ripped the heart out of the more experienced middle and lower order, Mark Cushion snaring overseas star Du Plessis, caught behind by Rob Eagleton.
Jim Bullimore (1-20) dismissed Reader just when he was getting going and when Cushion claimed his fourth wicket in the 27th over the home side's innings was all over being bowled out for 108 with 13 overs left.
In reply, Worstead's Rob Eagleton (12) and Alec Toll (3) got the visitors off to a steady start until Toll was bowled by Duplessis.
With the total standing at 30 Rob Eagleton was caught at short mid-off and thoughts of a Worstead collapse were starting to emerge.
