Will Dorsett, of North Norfolk Wheelers, scored his first-ever road race win in the Mid-Suffolk event at Somersham recently. Ben Nicholson (EST/CCN) and Richard Dunnett (Diss) had a 20-second lead midway through the 46-miles.

Will Dorsett, of North Norfolk Wheelers, scored his first-ever road race win in the Mid-Suffolk event at Somersham recently. Ben Nicholson (EST/CCN) and Richard Dunnett (Diss) had a 20-second lead midway through the 46-miles.

Dorsett said: 'I knew I had to react. I attacked the main bunch on the only hill on the circuit and managed to work across to the two other riders.

'I knew it was a great chance to win, and I wasn't going to let this chance go. On the final climb to the finish I stuck to the front of our group and kicked hard to drop both guys and win the race.

'It wasn't a ridiculously high standard of race compared to the Richmond Grand Prix, and this weekend I'm racing in Belgium which is the highest standard in the world. But a win is a win, it's all that counts!'
