Ten pupils from North Walsham Junior School recently had the opportunity to meet Olympian Roger Black at the launch of the Competitive Edge Sports Programme at UEA.
The pupils, identified as gifted and talented athletes, were invited to attend a day of multi-sports activities, which tested not only their physical ability but also their cognitive and creative skills.
All the participants came away with an athlete profile, outlining their strengths and areas in which they could make progress.
'This was a fantastic opportunity for the children,' said PE co-ordinator Kathy Warren. 'They have had great fun and learned a lot about what it takes to be an elite athlete.'
