Trimingham Pilgrims visited Sprowston Wanderers in a Norfolk Sunday Senior Cup tie and although losing they put together a far better performance than their last two matches.

The match was stalemate until the dying minutes of the first half when following, a Pilgrims' corner, the home side counter-attacked down the right and scored to take a 1-0 half-time lead.

A minute into the second half Lewis Amos threw the ball into Daniel Tyrell and his chipped through ball reached Luke Everson who surprised the keeper with a long range shot to even the scores.

Sprowston took the lead again but Jordie Wiseman equalised for Pilgrims with a superb 25 yard free-kick smashing the ball into the roof of the net.

Just as the visitors were beginning to settle Sprowston caught them twice following free-kicks to run out 4-2 victors.

There were plenty of goals about in the Walcott Lighthouse Inn NEN League with leaders Gimingham leading the way when at Southrepps they hit eight without reply.

Cameron Walker notched a hat-trick, Oliver Mills two while Wayne Cutting and Craig Shreeve were also on target and an opponent found the net.

Cromer Youth Old Boys, thanks to a Euan Neave hat-trick and further goals from James Farrow, Liam Fearn, Lee Harrod and Joseph Leah, recorded a resounding 7-1 win over their visitors Gimingham Reserves.

East Ruston's Jake Brown notched up a hat-trick as Ruston recorded a 5-2 home win over Erpingham, their other goals coming from Lee Rayner and Mark Burton.

Hickling and visitors North Walsham A shared the points and six goals while Aylsham A returned home from Holt Colts 7-2 victors.

Meanwhile Holt kept hold of second position in Division Two of the Anglian Combination after making the long trip to Brandon and returning home with a hard-fought 1-1 draw.

The Owls were 1-0 down at the break to a goal from Charlie Power but hit back in the second half to take a point thanks to Chris Smith's effort.

Holt are nine points behind leaders Easton, who have dropped just two points all season. They have a weekend off before returning to action on Saturday week with a trip to Euston Park to take on Thetford Rovers.
