There were personal bests from Graham Davison and Andrew Knowles and an outstanding performance from Guy Thorold, who beat the hour on his first time trial on this course. His training as a marathon runner no doubt helped him

Handicap times (on 45 minutes): Knowles 42:43, Rivett 42:49, Davison 44:11, Griffiths 45:45, Poulter 46:03, Hunt 48:04.
