Second-placed Acle were held 0-0 at home by Loddon, another title hopeful, Hempnall in fourth spot drew 1-1 with last season's champions Wroxham Reserves while third-placed Brandon lost to a Darren Terrington goal at Cromer.

The top three teams, Sheringham, Acle and Brandon, are all now on 35 points with Hempnall one behind. The fixture backlog will play a key part, however, The Shannocks have one game in hand over Acle, four over Brandon and Hempnall.

But North Walsham, with 30 points, have played only 17 games to Sheringham's 18 and Cromer, in eighth spot with

28 points, have also played just 17 matches of the 30-game season.

At the other end of the Premier Division, Holt are second bottom with Wroxham Reserves now climbing and up to fourth bottom.

Saturday sees Sheringham at Hempnall, North Walsham at a reviving third-bottom Hindringham and Cromer at seventh-placed Blofield, who could also mount a Sterry Cup challenge with two games in hand over the Shannocks. Holt entertain AFC Norwich.
