Bradfield travelled to Norwich on Saturday and came away with an 18-point Norfolk Alliance Division One winning draw, thanks to a good all-round team performance.

Batting first on a good wicket, Wiseman and O Kimber, opening for the first time, got Bradfield off to an excellent start, putting on 71 before Wiseman became the first of Stacey's four victims.

Bidewell and Holmes went cheaply before Abbs and O Kimber took the score to 110, when Abbs was caught at mid-off.

Kimber was next to go for an excellent 57 to leave Bradfield on 133-5.

Skipper Yarham and Reynolds then attacked the bowling, with Reynolds hitting two sixes in a quickfire 19 and Yarham blasting two sixes and five fours in a hard-hitting 46.

Robinson took Bradfield over 200 with a quick 19 not out. E Lock was the other not out batsman on four as Bradfield closed on 215-7.

M Stacey was the best Norwich bowler, finishing with 4-38 from 12 overs.

Holmes got Bradfield off to the best possible start, having opener Lear well caught by Reynolds for nought in the first over.

Locke then picked up the dangerous Binnie, who was snapped up at mid-wicket by the safe hands of J Grey.

Holmes knocked Tipping's middle stump out of the ground and trapped Vaughan lbw, to leave Norwich in all sorts of trouble at 26-4.

Skipper Fox and Stacey put on 50 for the fifth wicket before being bowled by Robinson for 23.

With Norwich content to bat out for a draw, it was going to be hard for Bradfield to bowl Norwich out, but a couple of quick wickets from Yarham left Norwich on 111-7.

When Holmes came back for his second spell and had the excellent Stacey caught for 54 by Grey, Bradfield had a slim chance of forcing victory.

But with overs running out Norwich held on, losing their ninth wicket - Yarham's third clean-bowled victim - with only three balls of the last over remaining, to finish on 130-9.

All four Bradfield bowlers returned excellent figures. Holmes took 4-37, Locke conceded just 27 runs and took one wicket from his 12, Robinson's 12 overs, 1-29 and Yarham's 11 overs, 3-32 were backed up by excellent fielding.

Credo Asset Finance man of the match was David Yarham.

Bradfield A followed up their important away win against Horsford with a successful return against Saham Toney A in Norfolk League Division Five.

Saham batted first and posted a reasonable score of 180-6. Opener Max Wood (81) played the anchor role throughout most of the Saham innings, building a 98-run partnership with Xavier Huckle (52).

A Kimber continued his good bowling form, claiming three late wickets as the visitors tried to boost their score to end with 4-40.

While Kimber reaped the rewards, Nick Bartholomew gave an excellent masterclass of straight bowling on a flat track with 12-4-36-1.

The key to Bradfield's successful run chase was their skipper Jonny Amies who followed up a match-winning 42 in a low-scoring game against Horsford by batting throughout the innings for a well paced 93 not out.

He was supported in two stands of 35 by Jerry Cutting (18) and Sam Kimber (10), 45 with Alex Kimber (19) and

an unbroken 63 with Nick Grapes (22 not out).
