Undaunted by the freezing weather, North Norfolk Beach Runners have been busy racing at local races and further afield.

The Stamford 30k is a popular race for those building up to the London Marathon in April and four members of the Cromer club made the trip to Rutland.

Colin Stark was in cracking form, recording a superb time of 2-02:35 for 40th place in the field of more than 600. If Colin takes that sort of form to London, he would comfortably break the magic three hour barrier.

Merle Riseborough found the hilly course tough going but clocked a highly creditable 2-33:29 for 282nd place while Christine Walker and Lucy Collyer also had excellent races. Christine crossed the line in 2-42:44 while Lucy went well too, finishing in 2-48:24.

Closer to home around ten North Norfolk Beach Runners took part in the Break Stody Cross Country. Jamie Wade ran a strong second lap to finish fourth in a strong field and was the first Beach Runner across the line with his father, Ian, amongst those further back. Maria Greaves went well in preparation for the Anglian triathlon. Fish Sadler, Keith Dickens and Jim Hayes were amongst the other Beach Runners joining a record field on a cold but dry morning at the Stody Estate.

One Beach Runner not taking part was Carmine de Grandis who had run in the Winter Poppyline event the previous day. Organised by the Long Distance Walkers, 53 miles of North Norfolk tracks and pathways had to be covered and Carmine got round in a brilliant time of 10 hours and 31 minutes.
