The opening match of this year's Cromer Lifeboat Cup competition took place at Cabbell Park on Monday evening.
Southrepps made a successful return to the competition by beating Cromer Veterans 5-0 to book their place in the semi-finals.
The game was even for the first 20 minutes and then Southrepps took control, with goals in the 24th and 35th minutes seeing them go into the break 2-0 up. Shortly after half-time the Vets lost their keeper to injury and Southrepps ran out 5-0 winners.
Cromer had a lot of the play but lacked firepower up front while both teams were a credit to the competition and entertained a large appreciative crowd. The match was easily controlled by Clive Randell.
On Monday Holt Reserves meet Cromer Youth Old Boys at Cabbell Park while the re-arranged game between Gimingham and North Walsham Reserves is on Tuesday (both 6,45pm).
