SHERINGHAM kept their unbeaten record in Norfolk Alliance Division Two with an emphatic victory at home to Garboldisham.

Sheringham skipper Jimmy Hall won the toss and elected to bowl first, and his decision was soon justified on a hard and fast track, as openers C Carey and R Pushpakumara moved the ball while bowling with great pace and accuracy.

Carey got the breakthrough trapping Kemp lbw, before Carey and C Sutton combined for a run out. The Sheringham openers were bowling superbly. Carey and Pushpakumara picked up two more wickets each to leave Garboldisham in disarray at 8-6 after 10 overs. Carey soon picked up his fourth, but Garboldisham dug in and made Sheringham work hard.

Shepherd (22no) helped to frustrate the Sheringham attack, before Pushpakumara picked up the eighth wicket to finish with 11-5-8-3.

The visitors' lower order took the score past 50 before E Tuck (2-17) struck twice in an over to bowl Garboldisham out for 54 in 32 overs.

In reply, Sheringham's J Taylor (0) was removed in the first over, before M Hudson (3) soon ran himself out to leave Sheringham 3-2 in the third opener.

Opener G Blackiston (15no) was joined by C Sutton (32no) at the wicket and the pair steadied the innings. The duo both played some fine shots in an unbroken partnership of 54 for a comfortable eight-wicket win, Sheringham finishing on 57-2 in the 16th over. This win lifts Sheringham up to fourth. Sheringham A travelled to Terrington and suffered their first defeat in what was a very disappointing team performance.

Sheringham batted first and were all out for 137; against the weakest bowling attack they have faced this season.

The innings started well enough with J Lloyd (44) and A Jenkins (39) taking Sheringham to 92-2 after 20 overs.

The innings then collapsed however, with the succession of poor shots, and needless run outs resulting in Sheringham being bowled out in just

34 overs.

In reply, S Hudson (1-22) bowled economically without any luck, but Terrington were able to achieve their target comfortably for the loss of four wickets in 26 overs.
