Attracting the next generation of golfers onto the fairways is a big challenge for all golf clubs - and officials at Sheringham have come up with a couple of initiatives aimed at doing just that,

Firstly they have adopted the Drive, Pitch and Putt competition that Augusta have run so successfully in their warm-up to the Masters.

On Monday, August 14, any boy or girl, in three age groups, can enter the Sheringham version, free of charge and there is no need to be affiliated to any golf club.

Alongside this Sheringham are also offering free membership to any junior up to the age of 18 whose close relative joins the club. Free bursaries will be also available, by application, for youngsters who have no family links to the club or perhaps golf in general.

For more information contact the club on 01263 823488 or or visit the club website
