Sheringham FC Veterans team are celebrating, after scoring a 3-1 victory against Hethersett to win the Norfolk Leathes Prior league division 2.
The team was formed by Shannocks team managers Simon Robinson and Edward Hammond following a memorial match played in honour of local mum-of-two Lindsay Buck, who died suddenly in 2016 at the age of 34.
It quickly made its mark and, after winning every game this season, put in a sterling performance at Carrow Road to win the league.
Thanking the players, supporters and sponsors Bob Brewster, of the Crown Inn, and heating engineer Wayne Campbell, Mr Robinson said: 'This is the first time Sheringham has ever had a vets team and I want to congratulate them for winning against a very strong Hethersett team. There were some outstanding saves from goalkeeper Shaun Walton and it was just a brilliant effort from every single player.'
