After suffering a broken leg during Sheringham's first game of the season, Tom Little was faced with not only being out of action but also being unable to work for a considerable amount of time. Players and officials from the club decided to raise funds to go some way towards easing the pressures of his lost earnings.
The fund-raising involved a collection tin being shaken at training and at games around the pitch and in the clubhouse.
Tom received a cheque for £500 at Saturday's home game against Poringland Wanderers and watched as his team won 2-1. The Shannocks now sit third in the table, just one point off top spot.
Tom progressed through the Sheringham under-18 system and enjoyed a sound pre-season with the first team, where he would have no doubt played a key role this season.
