But, more importantly, their closest rivals Acle United suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Blofield - Danny McKail's brace earning the win, despite Ben Morgan's strike for the hosts.

Goals from Iain Mills, Tim Downs and Barry Allard saw Hempnall keep up the pressure with a 3-0 win against Holt.

But Brandon remain third after a 2-2 draw at Watton; Shane Leach and Mark Woods on target for the visitors, Jon Walmsley and Liam Campbell for Watton.

Darren Terrington's header ensured Cromer Town beat Wroxham Reserves 2-1, Paul Bradshaw's own goal had cancelled out David Harwood's penalty for the hosts.

In Division One, Horsford lost ground after a 4-2 defeat at Stalham. Daniel Tindall, John Bell, Peter Skivington and Nicholas Grapes were on target for the hosts, while Darren Nichols and Mark Bailes replied for United.

On Saturday, Sheringham are at home to Dersingham Rovers, North Walsham are at Hempnall, Cromer at Loddon. Wroxham Reserves entertain Holt tomorrow (Friday) 7.30.
