AT last the Robins were on a pitch with a good surface and, with a strong 11, expected to pick up some form and some points.

But the form, along with confidence, was slow to return. The performance was without pattern and fluidity. The long lay-off seems to have put the team back to a

pre-season state.

Chances came and chances went. Shaun Belton could have had a hat-trick, Mark Gaskin missed a couple and Beau Howard and Jay Back came close with headers, Back's opportunity coming back

off the bar.

Except for one good save from Sean Burdon, Scole hardly troubled Stuart Parsons in the Reepham goal.

Manager Shane Lutkin said after the game: “We need to get back to a passing game. We were playing far too many long balls and we got sucked into a mediocre stalemate.

“When things are not going well, teams need to work hard together through the rough patch. We need to show character and rediscover the fighting spirit and flair we demonstrated last season.”

Lutkin concluded: “We have got to get realistic. We've got to pull our socks up and get stuck in. Anything we get we'll have to fight for. We have the ability, but we need to have a stronger mental attitude and focus on the job in hand.”

This Saturday, Reepham Town are away to Horsford.
