IT'S a much vaunted cliché, but this was certainly a game of two halves.

Almost from the start Reepham were on top. On 20 minutes Andy Gooch dispossessed Saints' Luke Tuttle and volleyed past Dwaine Smith from 25 yards.

Five minutes later a terrific passing move saw Gary Ives finish neatly, putting the Robins two up.

Three minutes into the second half Beau Howard was caught ball watching and Courtney Campbell got goalside and finished neatly. Reepham's composure deserted them, but they still had chances.

Paul Reeve played in Colin Emberley so he was one on one with Smith, but instead of restoring a two-goal difference he shot wide.

Their first-half dominance deserted Reepham, St Johns crept back into the game and on the hour Tuttle levelled the scores.

Reepham's misery was complete when, with 93 minutes on the clock, Luke Macglure took advantage of weak defending and gave the hosts a victory and kept their promotion hopes alive.

Reepham's assistant manager Paul Belton said: “If we had played all season like we did in the first half we would be promoted by now, but in the second half it was feeble. Let's hope this group of players can learn from this game.”
