Two members and a guest of the North Walsham Kingfisher Angling Club reeled in an awesome aggregate of nearly 1000lbs of carp during a two-day event staged on the Boddington Reservoir near Peterborough.

On day one Mark Seaman put 170lbs on the scales, Mark Eales had 118lbs and Denis Goodwin 112lbs. on day two Eales won top honours with 257lbs, Goodwin bagged 155lbs and Seaman 149lbs.

Mark Eales who was invited to the outing by his two friends said he was most grateful to be asked to join in the huge fish fest.

“It was a great weekend; we stayed overnight in a posh hotel and for me it was a match to remember.”

On the specimen carp waters Geoff Benson of Stalham bagged a magnificent mirror of 30lbs from the Lyng Kingfisher Lakes while Stu Davison of Buxton had a mirror and a common just under 30lbs.

Along the North Norfolk beaches autumn bass are showing up between Trimingham and Weybourne, the top bait being squid to tempt the larger specimens feeding no more than 40 yards out.
