Stalham Youth U9 made their manager and parents very proud on Sunday when they finished runners up in the Horsford tournament.

They played excellent football, showing great strength, teamwork and work rate.

In their first game they beat Thorney Colts 3-1 but then lost 1-0 to Drayton.

Next they came back from losing 1-0 at half time against Horsford United to win 2-1.

Stalham then played Hethersett and were only 1-0 up at half time but ran out comfortable 7-0 winners!

Stalham took this confidence into their final game and beat rivals Taverham 2-0.

This put them through to the semi finals top of their group where they faced North Walsham who they beat 2-0.

In the final they played Horsford City for the second year running and unfortunately lost 2-0.

Stalham were unlucky to concede a dodgy penalty for a high foot and then conceded a second when they were chasing the game. Every player put in 100 per cent all day.

Daniel was solid at the back and really showed what a star he is! Joseph was outstanding in goal and saved Stalham on several occasions. Byron scored nine goals and assisted with five. Kyle had a great afternoon working up and down scoring five and assisting with six (he scored with an awesome strike from defence to put Stalham in the final)!

Troy battled all afternoon scoring 1 and assisting with two.

Finally, Harrison fitted nicely in the side and set up two important goals and made some great challenges.
