HOLT started their league campaign with a 3-2 home win against newly-promoted Wanderers. A new- look Holt included new signings Ben Lucking, James Wright, Lee Clark and Lewis Smith.

The Owls' Kevin Moore won and converted an early penalty. Soon after an exquisite cross from James Wright found Lee Clarke unmarked to head Holt to a two-goal advantage.

Bradenham soon got a goal back when a fine free-kick found the top corner of the goal and they could have been level at the break but for a fine, low save from Ben Lucking.

Holt started the second half well with the back four of Warnes, Medlar, David Thompson and Jones untroubled until the visitors won a penalty with 20 minutes left to make it 2-2.

In the final 20 minutes Bradenham looked most likely to score with Holt's midfield of Wright, Steven Thompson, Moore and Edwards and forwards Smith and Clark working hard to contain the opposition.

Sam Morgan and Chris English came off the bench and proved the benefit of having a strong squad as they quickly settled into their jobs and showed their quality.

With the clock ticking down Smith had his shirt pulled for a penalty from which Kevin Moore nearly broke the net to give Holt a very hard-fought opening win.

This was a very good team performance

with Lee Clark and Steven Thompson having excellent games.
