The withdrawal of last week's scheduled opponents in the Intermediate Cup was frustrating for coaches and players of North Walsham alike.

Although it provided players with the opportunity to take a rest and watch England win or New Zealand lose, depending on which part of the globe you hail from, such has been the intensity in training that most were desperate to keep the momentum and focus that has been built up in recent weeks.

Having had two intense sessions last week Nick Greenhall was proposing to add a bit of variety on Tuesday with some sprints up Gas Hill in Norwich and then revert to normal training at Scottow on Thursday in preparation for the first visit of Old Streetonians.

This being the first meeting between the clubs little is known of them except that they base themselves in Shoreditch and play their matches on Hackney Marshes.

Their season has been a disappointing one and they are currently in the drop zone eight points clear of Stevenage who they beat in their last game 18-8. Their only other success was away at Enfield Ignatians who are themselves not too far from safety.

Nick Greenhall has been around long enough to know that fixtures like this have a 'banana skin' element to them and will urge no slackening of effort.

He should have few problems in selection, Dean Blyth has recovered from his dead leg and should resume at scrum-half, allowing Henry Dewing to return to full back and it will probably be a choice between Kurt Benney and Chris Borrett at outside half.

The only likely change in the pack could be the return of Chris Godwin at open side.

The Raiders, who failed in their attempt to find a fixture last weekend, head south of Norwich to play Lakenham Hewett and selection there could be much more difficult with the number of players vying for a place. Those who don't make the cut could still figure for the Warriors who have a home fixture against NUCA Lakenham.
