Exciting times at North Norfolk Hockey Club

It has been an excellent season for North Norfolk Hockey Club, with the men’s first team gaining promotion and the women hoping to follow their example.
The men were recently crowned champions of Division Four North-East of the East League following a 6-0 victory over Felixstowe II.
They followed that up with an even more emphatic win on Saturday, thrashing Pelicans III 11-0 to condemn their visitors to relegation and maintain an 11-point advantage over the closest challengers Lowestoft Railway.
The Cromer-based team have had a stunning season so far, comprising 18 wins one solitary draw and no losses.
With 93 goals for and 13 goals against, they are proving to be one of the most successful teams throughout the north-east leagues.
North Norfolk have three games remaining in which to defend their unbeaten record both at home and away.
The next fixture on Saturday will see North Norfolk travel to Norwich City V.
There are two more away trips to come against Bury St Edmunds III and Thetford Town.
There is a thrilling battle for promotion going on in Division 2NE of the Women’s East League, with four Norfolk teams right in the thick of it.
North Norfolk and the second teams of Norwich Dragons, Norwich City and Dereham are breathing down the necks of Ipswich and East Suffolk, who currently hold the second promotion place.
Second and sixth are separated by just two points, so there is everything to play for over the next few weeks.
Dragons kept their bid on track with a 6-0 win over Christchurch, City seconds saw off visitors Colchester II 7-0 and North Norfolk beat Harleston Magpies III 3-1 but Dereham lost 5-3 to leaders Ipswich II.
