New era kicks off at Aylsham
The girls and ladies of Aylsham Town Football Club held their presentation evening in Aylsham Town Hall.The chairman, Darren Barnes, welcomed everyone to the the finale of the club before the landmark amalgamation with the boys and men of Aylsham Wanderers to form Aylsham Football Club.

Aylsham Town FC was formed in 1996 and has thrived. All the current Aylsham Town players received a commemorative medal to mark the occasion.
The five teams representing Aylsham Town have enjoyed a successful league and cup season, with three reaching the cup finals in their respective age group.
U10s manager Steve Grice paid tribute to his assistant Angie Rusbridge, their spouses and his players for their efforts throughout a fantastic season. The team finished second in the league and were cup winners. Steve also thanked the parents of his players for their constant support. Manager's player, Nikita Moss; players' player, Hazel Needham; most improved player, Elizabeth Rouse.
U12s manager Brian Clark reported an excellent season with wholehearted commitment from all players. The team had seen changes during the season but finished in a creditable mid-table league position and narrowly lost in their cup final. Brian thanked his wife Heidi, referees, parents and team for their support. Manager's player, Shannon Wiseman; players' player, Ellie Cleaver; most improved player, Sarah Reeve.

U13s manager Sebastian Sutcliffe paid tribute to the support given to him at training and matches by Darren Barnes and praised the support of parents and helpers. The team had found the A League tough, had worked hard and played competitively throughout. Manager's player, Lizzie Hibberd; players' player, Jaimie Cook and Vicky Last (joint winners); most improved player, Sarah Goodliffe.
U16s manager Tony Gray has led the team for four years and is standing down. He thanked all who have helped and supported him throughout that time. He congratulated all his players for their competitive approach during a hard season. Manager's player, Kerry Rose; players' player; Helen Perry-Warnes; most improved player, Michaela England.
Ladies' manager Ian Walsh acknowledged the tremendous efforts of his players. They had started the season without a full squad and had grown in confidence and strength.
The team finished the league in third position and won the cup final against league winners Wymondham.
He thanked Darren Barnes for his constant support, Tony Gray for stepping up to assist in the second part of the season and all those who have helped throughout. Manager's player, Abby Timmins; players' player, Kylie Timmins; most improved player, Felicity Farraway.
Chairman, Darren Barnes presented two special awards. The “first headed goal of the season” went to ladies' player Abby Timmins; a golden boot award to ladies' player Gina Atherton for scoring 67 goals this season.
Darren and Julie Moss who have been involved with the club since its formation, presented the ladies' team with the League Cup.
Gifts of thanks were presented to club officers chairman Darren Barnes, secretary Lesley Slater and treasurer Beryl Burton, to fundraising organiser Eileen Moss and to those who have helped during the season.
Thanks went to Heidi Clark and her helpers who organised the presentation evening. The disco was provided by Generation X.
All managers were presented with a gift of thanks from their players.
Darren Barnes thanked everyone for a “great team effort and team spirit” at Aylsham Town - the sponsors of kit: Chamberlain Shield, MJ and NM Partridge Electrical Ltd, Smith and Pinching, Jet Print and Chris Oakes Builders.

The Aylsham Town annual meeting takes place on Tuesday, June 10, 6.30pm at Bure Valley School, Aylsham.
