Partick Thistle landed an early marker in their bid to earn promotion to the William Hill Premiership with a 2-0 win over relegated Livingston on Friday.
Thistle missed out two years ago after defeat at the Championship semi-final stage by Livingston, who went on to secure a place in the top flight, but a cheeky flicked finish by Robbie Crawford broke the deadlock after four minutes of this second fixture of the new campaign.
It sent the Jags fans at Firhill wild and an own goal by Cammy MacPherson from Aidan Fitzpatrick’s low cross in the 44th minute wrapped up all three points to consign Livingston to defeat in front of 3,939 spectators.
